About Eileen
Education, Qualifications, & Experience
Masters in Education from the University of Washington
Washington State Certification in Elementary Education and English Language Learning.
8 years experience (2012-2020) teaching kindergarten through 5th grade in Seattle Public Schools (SPS).
Proficiency with current SPS curriculum.
National Board certified in Early Literacy (age 4-12).
Trained in current science standards (NGSS), Social Emotional Learning, Mindfulness and Yoga for Children.
Experience with Special Education, IEPs and 504 plans
Trained in Culturally Responsive Teaching - It is important in today’s climate to work towards equitable access to education for all students from all backgrounds.
Follows “Warm Demander” coaching methods . This means that I will hold high expectations for your student while also creating a safe environment for growth ensuring they are empowered to take ownership over their learning.
I have been a classroom teacher for the last 8 years, 7 of those years in Seattle so I am very familiar with current curriculum.
I have my teaching certificate and endorsements in Elementary Education and English Second Langauge.

We would start with a phone call with the parents where we can discuss goals, schedule and your student. Then typically I will contact your student's teacher to get assessment scores. Following that we can make a plan together of how often to meet. Prior to meetings I can send an agenda.
