About Shaina
Hello! I am a former camp counselor who loves to teach. I have a Bachelor's degree from Rollins College in Biology and English, and am available to tutor in these areas of study! I am a published independent author, and have worked as a horticulturist and animal behaviorist all over the country. Being Dyslexic and ADHD myself, I know how hard it can be to succeed in school first hand. Let me help teach what I've learned in my education experience, to help overcome the obstacles so many children face in school (and during a global pandemic).
I have been teaching kids all sorts of things at the summer camp I work at, Camp Chatuga. I have taught kids how to swim, ride horses, as well as given reading lessons. I have also been the Kitchen Supervisor to our service campers, who focus on learning about community service and the Waterfront Director of the camp.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and English, and am a published independent author. I have worked in many biological fields as well, including horticulture and animal behavior.

I like to have an overall idea of what my students need help with, and get to know them and their learning style. I want to know the goals of my students, as well as their parents. I then like to set out session by session tasks to complete. I also like to know the areas of study before hand so that I have my materials ready and available as well so that we waste no time together.
