About Benjamin
Ben Tuff grew up splitting his time between Atlanta, GA and Jamestown, RI. He graduated from The Lovett School in 1999 and then attended Colby College where he met his now wife, Gretchen and treasured his times working as a sailing instructor and boat captain in the British Virgin Islands. Between Jamestown and the BVI, Ben developed a lifelong appreciation for the ocean. Ben is a lifelong educator and has had the privilege of working with hundreds of boarding students from across the world at Rectory School, Kent School, Stratton Mountain School, with the majority of time spent at Rumsey Hall School. He has spent over 20 years teaching, tutoring, coaching, advising, and working with students in grades K-12. Recently a movie has been released about him on Amazon titled, "Swim Tuff" and he spends a great deal of time speaking to students across the world. Ben became a teacher because he hated school and found it monotonous and boring. Now, through education he is able to get otherwise uninterested students excited to learn.
