About Ellen
Hardworking and passionate student seeking to help peers excel in their classes. I will help you improve your writing skills from the ground up, not only pointing out issues and places to improve, but also teaching you how to write interesting and intelligent works that will help you pass any class you're in.
In the past, I have been the go-to person when my classmates were struggling with writing assignments, to the point where one classmate would not submit a paper without letting me give it a once over first. I am willing to work well into the night to help you submit assignments before that dreaded 11:59 deadline, though I often encourage students reach out to me earlier so we have more time to work things out together.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
I love watching my students improve as time goes by. Instead of simply helping someone get a good grade on just one paper, I always aim to help them develop the skills to be able to write well for the rest of their lives.
I began tutoring organically by helping my classmates with editing their papers before and after class.

I generally like to spend the first session getting to know the student and their needs. We'll go over some past examples of their writing, then take a look at their upcoming assignments, then come up with a rough plan for the future.
Highschoolers and college kids are my target demographic.
Always look for a teacher that you feel like you can talk to. We can only help you if we know what you're struggling with, so if you're having a problem, let us know!
As a diehard NASA fan, I loved going to DC to see the show projected on the Washington Monument with my family on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing last summer.

I would say she did an amazing job explaining how I was supposed to write my essay. I would definitely ask her to help me again. She really engages with you & makes a good bond with you so you feel confident and ready to accomplish what you want to do. I also believe she is passionate about helping other so that would make her really good at tutoring. Overall GREAT incredible experience with her as my tutor!
I was struggling with writing essays during my English 111 class, but Ellen really helped me out. She edits paper like a college professor and her notes are really easy to read. She even gave me suggestions on how to organize my paper and how to make paragraph transitions flow. I strongly recommend her to anyone else who is easily overwhelmed by writing projects like I was!
