About Benjamin
I teach the basics of guitar, music theory, reading music and the history of music from baroque to romanticism. I also teach about the importance of music in relation to psychology and understanding the history of popular music.
Music is the most important thing in the world to me. It provides an emotional outlet and it can bring back memories. I remember it being the only thing I ever liked as a child and I still have the same desire to be involved with the process.
I started in my first year of college, tutoring struggling students and people in my era who wanted to learn how to play guitar.
I have been a music major in college for 3 years. I have also been a professional guitarist in Long Island since 2018, I understand about how harmony and melody work on guitar and how to use techniques to make guitar playing easier.

The students I've worked with range from middle school/high school to college students/individuals in their mid-twenties.
If you are a student looking for a guitar teacher,be sure you're aware of what you want in the teaching experience. Also, be sure the teacher you choose is giving you an experience you can grow from.
I have a student who recently transfered out of Nassau Community College to a four-year institution. She's a music major and worked extremely hard to pass all of her classes. I worked with her many days and I feel that was my favorite accomplishment I have made recently.

The three biggest questions a student should ask themselves should be
1. Am I going to be committed to learning this new skill?
2. Is this teacher teaching me what I want to learn?
3. What do I want to learn?
