About Maxwell
We learn best when we’re in a comfortable and encouraging environment, and so I prioritize building a positive personal connection with each of my students. I believe that learning is an individual process, and so I’ve designed a flexible curriculum that leaves room for the student’s interests. My intention and my job is to make sure you’re learning music that you really enjoy while learning the fundamentals of guitar.
In addition to the 15+ years I've spent playing guitar in a variety of different settings including blues/rock bands, R&B, jazz and funk, I have over 10 years' experience teaching music and developing my curriculum. I also have a B.A. in jazz studies from the California Jazz Conservatory.

Max is an awesome teacher! He is super patient, friendly, and encouraging. He is detailed and helpful, but gives you the space to try things out on your own. As a beginner guitar player, I feel inspired and excited by Max's lessons!
Max does an excellent job of assessing a students skill level and tailoring lessons to fit them. The material he has you work on is easy enough to understand, while being challenging enough to help you improve. You can’t go wrong here.
