About Michael
I have experience as both an educator as well as an active performer in the Bay Area music scene. My versatility as a musician and educator has allowed me to collaborate with exceptional musicians and a diverse community of students within after school programs as well as in private lesson settings. I create my own methodology and teaching materials for each student and direct my teaching focus with students needs and interests in mind. I often remind students that it is my job to offer resources and materials that will initiate learning and to guide them accordingly but that the work can only be done by them. In this way it is important to stress that our musical development truly comes in large part by our own discipline and accountability.
