About Jason
My teaching approach: Located in Prescott and Prescott Valley, AZ and starting up personal 1 on 1 acoustic and electric guitar, drums, bass guitar, mandolin and ukelele lessons. I have over 10 years of teaching experience and almost 20 years of music playing experience. Known as one of the best teachers in Phoenix, Arizona. I have created 5 guitar and bass instructional videos which have sold all over the world. I teach and play anything from classical to heavy rock and metal. My guitar lessons take place in: Either location Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerpicking, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection
I really enjoy helping students reach their goals and giving them something exciting to work on. I also want to give students that live playing in a band and/or accompaniment experience. Once the student is ready, I also would love to incorporate training in songwriting and recording.
I started playing music in 1992. In the late 90's several people had suggested that I get into teaching. I put up many advertisements for guitar and bass lessons all over locally. With the advertisements and word of mouth from friends and family I got a good response right away and really enjoyed teaching from home.
I studied classical guitar in highschool, took college courses on spreadsheets for music and tab charts, also I am currently taking a class on electronics and guitar building. I have taught personal one on one lessons starting in 1999 and have created 5 instructional DVDs on learning guitar and bass.

I find out what the student's goals and interests are. From there I start the student with the basics such as reading music and/or tabs, finger exercises, charts and learning basic chords.
All types, from as young as 5 years old to students in their 70's. Beginner and intermediate students. Students interested in both reading music and tablature as well different style and different genre interests.
I recently started taking a college class on electronics and guitar building.

I am extremely pleased with having Jason as my guitar teacher. Each lesson builds on the next and he tailors them a bit to my specific likes. I look forward to my weekly lessons and am always pleased with the forward progression of each one. What also impresses me is that Jason is skilled and active musician playing multiple instruments.
