About Curt
My teaching approach: The primary focus of the approach I use is HOW to play, rather than WHAT to play, with an emphasis on mechanics, fretboard knowledge and ear training. My aim is for you to develop the skills to play anything you wish, and not simply the things I show you. With the guitar, the best thing we can do for ourselves is learn how to learn. Then, no teacher and no method can hold us back.
Whether you are a beginner just thinking about getting some guidance, or you've been playing for some time and feel you are ready to kick it up a notch, I can help. If they play guitar, I pay attention. But in particular, I love the blues, rock, and jazz. I have been deeply influenced by Jimi Hendrix (my first concert experience). And I have worked with Robert Fripp for 38 years.
Guitar lessons take place in my home studio in Phinney/Greenwood. Monday - Thursday 9am-7pm. Online lessons are also available.
