I start with assessing where they are in their guitar knowledge and then decide where to start . Usually with the basic scales and simple chords used for song structure.
I then will show how to correctly strum the chords .
Have taught children as young as 10 to teenagers and people in their 60's.
Be prepared to work hard and become a great player .
One of my younger students Dad thanked me for showing his daughter how to play . She's now 28 and amazing .

Perfect! i learned on the first lesson
Perfect! My name is Arlene and I hired David to teach my 12-year-old daughter guitar; my daughter excelled immediately because David made it simple and fun, after two weeks and six lessons, she learned two songs, both blues songs, a great way to start with just a couple of chords. He is patient, kind and knows how to work with children and adults. His rate is fair for his knowledge, talent and experience. I highly recommend him, you will not be disappointed. I would like to add to watch and hear him play, he is hypnotic and you really feel the music in your soul.

David was my teen daughter’s guitar teacher. He made lessons fun and easy! David is knowledgable, patient, relatable and so talented as a teacher and as a performer. David went out of his way too to provide performing opportunities for his students! My daughter enjoyed not only learning from David but also performing with him on occasion. I highly recommend David....he is a wonderful teacher and person!
Patient, laid back, persistent. Never late. Never a no show. Felt totally safe leaving my daughter (who he taught from 10-15) alone with him.. Dave's decades of guitar excellence makes him a GREAT choice if you're looking for guitar lessons.
