About Clarissa
I have been told for most of my life I would make a great teacher. It was not until I graduated college that I started to believe it. Even as a substitute teacher, I love being in an environment where I can help students regardless of the subject matter. Any time I can help a student better understand a problem or help them reach a goal I feel a sense of pride that what I am doing is making a difference, no matter how big or small that difference may be.
I graduated college with a degree in Political Science, then returned to pursue a teaching certificate for 7-12 social studies. I have been a substitute teacher for the past two years.
I have a B.A. in Political Science as well as a Pennsylvania teaching certificate for grades 7-12 Social Studies.

I have worked with students ranging from 7th through 12th grades, as well as some college students.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should be able to identify or explain the style of learning that helps them the most. As a teacher, I will be able to adapt to their learning style and make lessons more effective simply by knowing what type of learner the student is. For example, I am a visual learner, so I benefit from reading and taking notes, viewing graphics, and using flash cards. If the student is unsure of their learning type, I will ask them a few questions to get an idea of what will help them the most.
