About Josh
I am a former high school Social Studies teacher who is passionate about helping students excel at their education. I am dedicated to helping you learn using the variety of educational "tools" that I have developed through experience. My goal is to help you succeed in the classroom and inspire you to succeed beyond the classroom.
I have a bachelor's degree (BA) in history and a master of arts in teaching degree (MAT) in secondary social studies. My subject specialities include World History, Civics and U.S. History. I am also available for S.A.T. preparation.
I enjoy teaching, but more importantly I enjoy learning. My education has given me the desire to continually learn and to inspire others to do the same. One of the most rewarding things about what I do is that I get to learn along with my students.
I had some exceptional professors in college who encouraged me to teach and so I pursued a professional teaching license.

I try to reach my students where they are by evaluating their content knowledge, their strengths and weaknesses, and the relevance of the subject matter to their lives. I then use this information to engage them through direct teaching, student-driven learning, technology and research.
