I started in government work by first working in the Florida Senate as a Legislative Assistant.
In 2007 I completed my Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator certification.
From 2018-2021 I taught the GED to Federal Inmates as a volunteer.
I started as a volunteer teacher for State of Florida inmates teaching the G.E.D. (all subjects), and E.S.O.L. I then continued in my career of aviation where I was a Commercial Jet Captain and also a Cerified Advanced Ground Instructor. I have taught over 500 students individually.
I was a Federal FAA Certified Instructor, a G.E.D. tutor, and worked in the legislative branch.

I would review with the student what thier goals and expectations are in relation to the session and overall witht he tutoring; cunduct a review of the foundamentals of the subject and then collaboratively move forward in learning.
I have worked with a range of students on multiple levels from inmates within prison learning the G.E.D. in a foreign language to C.E.O.s of publically traded companies learning aviation.
Look for actual knowledge and experience. I chose to teach in Government and History because I studied it in college, then continued working within government as an employee and also as an elected and appointed official. I instructed in aviation because I was a jet captain. Knowledge without real application isn't as beneficial to a student.
I was proud to recieve a Mentor Award from Palm Beach State College.
