About Kristin
I specialize in creating life long learners. I have experience helping NCAA athletes and students that are struggling succeed in the course, in school, and in life.
My parents were both teachers. I have been tutoring and teaching since I was very young. I officially started tutoring in 2010 with the America Reads and America Writes program.
I have a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning, with 2 Master Degrees. I have tutored students since 2008, when I tutored for America Reads and America Writes program. I recently tutored NCAA athletes at a major university.

I typically spend some time learning about the student before beginning our first session, so I can know their goals and difficulties.
I have worked with students with IEPs, athletes, and gifted students. I have worked with students of all ability levels and interests.
Find a teacher that you get along with and are willing to talk to. It may not be the most experienced or the strictest. You are creating a partnership with the teacher, so make sure you want to be partners with that person.
One of my college athletes came in crying because he was so disorganized and kept losing work. He thought he was a failure and would never finish college. He and I worked out a plan, got him organized, and he graduated!

Details
I tend to negotiate what is needed and the age of the student. Typically, tutoring for college-level, honors, or AP courses start at $40 an hour. My typical rate is about $20/hr.
