About Carrie

Ihave been teaching riding since I was a teenager. I excell because I understand that not all people learn the same way just as all horses are not the same. If the rider/student does not "get" it I look for other waus to word the instructions or information until it makes sense to that person or works with that horse. I have experience in both western and hunter/jumpers and have a passion for eventing. I am also open to helping those that want to be a safe and better trail rider. With a degree in Equestrian Science and 50 years experiance with horses I enjoy helping others to enjpy their own horses.

I started teaching at twelve when the barn we boarded at had a summercamp with riding lessons and needed a counsellor/riding instructor

A degree in Equestrian Science and 50 years of experience in training, showing, giving lessons and breeding horses

I would start with an evaluation of the rider and the horses skill levels along with a discussion of the goals of the rider

I preferr to work with beginners to intermediate riders. However If you start with me I am able to help you go as far as you wish in most disciplines.  I do not work with flatseat (Saddlebred show riding) riders since that is where I have limited experience.

Find a person that fits your goals and your personality

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your goals.  Do you want to learn to show your horse in a specific discipline or do you want to learn to be a safe trail rider?  Do you have kids that need to learn or is the student an adult.  Not all instructors work well with kids.  Do you work well with the personality of the instructor.  If not no matter how good they are you will not be happy
