About Lyndsay
Patience is key!
I was a middle school and high school teacher for 8 years, focusing on health and the social sciences. I have been a tutor to all ages since I was in school.
Certified teacher in law, business, physical education, world geography, and middle school years with 10+ years of professional tutoring experience. Certification and experience with international baccalaureate. Experience in higher education administration.
I was a tennis coach in my spare time while working as a financial advisor. Working with the students became a passion of mine and soon one of the principals I worked with asked me to come and teach at one of the schools I was a coach for.

Building a rapport with the student is the most important. This will help them feel comfortable and also enables both of us to track progress along the way. When working with a new student, I have them explain to me what they are working on and what they understand. Then, I ask them to explain to me what they are struggling with. This helps to understand how they teach themselves and the type of language to use when working with them. Using a simple step by step process at the beginning is best and then we can advance based on understanding from there.
