About Rocki
I have 7 years of teaching experience. I started as a substitute teacher for EC & K-12during the spring after I finished my BA. I have taught English I, II, II Pre-AP AP Literature & Composition, 7th grade ELA, Computer, and 3D Printing. I also have minors in Spanish and Communications. I was then offered a full time position as the Computer & 3D Printing teacher. The following year I began teaching English at the high school level, specifically English I, II, II Pre-AP and AP Literature & Composition. After spending 5 years at the high school level, I spent a year teaching 7th grade ELA. In Fall 2022, I began working towards my Master of Arts in English leading me to return to working as a substitute teacher. I have throughout high school, university, and also while teaching full time.
I aim to build a solid rapport with students to support them in their long-term goals and to understand what they wish to gain from each tutoring session. I also adapt my methods based on the needs of the student, the content, and their time allotment for each session. I check in with students throughout the lesson to ensure they grasp concepts and feel as if the session is helpful. I aim to encourage students at each step as my goal is to promote confidence in their abilities and to foster a zest for learning.
