About Alisha
My name is Alisha and I am a stay-at-home mom of four children. I currently homeschool three of my children who range from grades kindergarten to third grade. I have a bachelor’s degree in sociology, and have experience teaching in a fourth grade classroom setting in a religious education course.
As a homeschooling mom, I enjoy tailoring curriculum and lessons to the needs and educational levels of my children/students. Each child is different and deserves to be taught in a way that will best help them learn. I believe that children need encouragement above criticism in order to gain confidence and therefore open themselves up to optimal learning. With that said, constructive criticism is, of course, necessary for continued growth and learning.
I also believe that the more fun and interesting the lessons are for students, especially younger students, the more they will be able to absorb and remember the information they are taught. I enjoy discovering what interests the child and integrating games and other activities based upon those interests into our lessons, as well as introducing them to engaging activities they may have never participated in before, but may also foster greater learning.
It would be an honor to help your student grow in confidence and knowledge.
