About Alyce
I've been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu consistently since February of 2014. I'm now a Purple Belt studying under two separate Professors (we call Black Belts "Professor" out of respect in BJJ) coming from two different perspectives. I began co-teaching kids BJJ classes in 2015, and I now enjoy teaching my own classes.
I have a particular passion for teaching BJJ and Self-Defense to women and children who have experienced trauma. My "day job" as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker uniquely qualifies me to teach students applicable self-defense on all levels, body, mind, and spirit. I have over 20 years' experience working with a wide variety of people, and my specialty has been trauma. My teaching style incorporates fun and humor with a strong dedication to helping all types of students learn valuable life-saving skills.
