About Brandon
I have always had an interested in helping others learn mathematics. I would want to help my classmates in high-school and college if they needed it and have been a teaching assistant for calculus in college, so becoming a tutor made sense to me.
I have a BS in Mathematics and am pursuing minors in computer science, physics, and chemistry. I actively engage in my subjects with ongoing faculty research and with plans to get a PhD. I also have professional experience with in home tutoring over the summer with multiple students.

To begin, I always familiarize myself with my students goals to ensure my lessons will meet them within an alloted time frame.
So far I have experience with middle school, high school, and college age students.
I would mainly recommend initiating a conversation and communicating the points listed below as well anything else they believe is relevant. The more information someone can give a tutor before they begin the better.
One of my recent students was feeling very discouraged and hopeless about their education and weren't sure they'd make it through high school, but we were able to make it through their coursework together and now they are on track again to graduate.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students need to be sure to mention any concerns they have about learning disabilities, how they feel they best learn, and what they think they find the most challenging. All this information will be crucial for teaching most effectively.

Details
My rate depends on if I need to travel. For in town, my rate is $22/hour. For Albany, Philomath, or similar distances, my rate depends on session length: $30 for an hour, $55 for two hours, and $77 for three hours. Further than that can be discussed on a case by case basis.
