About Sofia
As an experienced teacher working with primarily special needs and all elementary grades, I have the passion, drive, and technique with interventions to promote success in all academic areas!
I have a bachelors degree from the University of Central Florida in Communication Sciences and Disorders, as well as teaching certifications in Exceptional Student Education K-12, Elementary Education, and English for Speakers of Other Languages. I started as a speech therapist in Osceola County, and fell in love with teaching before making a career switch. I’ve spent the last 5 years dedicated to helping young learners be successful!
I truly enjoy being part of the learning process, and helping others be successful!
I have been an elementary ESE teacher for 5 years, and have specialized in reading and math interventions.

When working with a new student, I like to first do an ice breaker activity to promote a more comfortable learning atmosphere. Then, in whichever subject I am teaching, I assess the students strengths and areas that need improvement before determining where to begin. I’m a firm believer in providing motivation and hands-on activities, so I always implement some form of reinforcement for hard work, participation, and good behavior.
