About Vismaya
At V^2 tutoring, we equip the students with the tools needed for them to succeed. Every student has the capability but they just need the right guide to help them reach their true potential. The skills learned with us can be applied by the students to future classes as well.
When working with the students it is so heartwarming to see the looks on their faces when they get an answer correct by themselves. I remember I was working with a kindergarten student on spelling and basic math. They were doing amazing with the first couple of problems but needed assistance with applying their knowledge. After I talked them through it and showed them they already knew how to do this type of problem, their face lit up! That breakthrough was a reward itself!

When working with a new student, I try to be as personable as possible to make sure the student is comfortable with me. They need to know that I am there for them and they can ask me anything. Further on we will go onto talking about what they need help with from the student's perspective. This will tell me how they are feeling about the assignment, test, etc. at hand. Throughout the session, I will try to ask questions that will help the students come up with the solution themselves. Each session will end with a takeaway, something I want them to remember for the future. Another important thing is brain breaks and teaching students how to effectively learn and study.
