About Matthew
My name is Matthew Koen, I am an Economics and Computer Science student at UC Berkeley, and have been tutoring privately for the past 6 years. I am an expert in Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus, and am an avid fan (can never claim expertise on the topic) of English, Machine Learning, and Behavioral and Financial Economics. I have tons of experience tutoring students from middle school through college. If you are looking for a qualified tutor with below market rates, hit me up. I accept and have experience with students ranging from middle school through university.
When I was 14, I fell in love with teaching when some family friends asked if I would tutor their son. Ever since I have been tutoring students ranging from middle schoolers to college students, connected primarily through word of mouth.
I am currently a Computer Science and Economics student at UC Berkeley.

I usually have a free session where I get to know the student — his or her strengths, weaknesses, aspirations, personality, hobbies and learning style. Then, if we are a match, we continue with a taylored style to fit your students needs. As a student myself, I understand the struggle of not understanding concepts, falling behind in work etc. and can fully relate to what you and your student is going through. I work hard to inspire organic inspiration in learning, and have a passion for teaching students in all topics.
I have experience working with students with learning disabilities, and have tutored students from middle school, high schoole and college. I primarily tutor students in math(elementary through Calculus), but also have experience tutoring in Economics, Computer Science and English.
