About Dylan
My experience with math and finance and college help me to stand among other tutors, but where I truly stand out is my passion for math and teaching. From an early age I have been passionate about numbers and loved math all together, and love passing that passion on to others that I work with. I have been an on an off tutor for the past 5 years, most of which was while I was in college. In college I studied math and finance, at the University of Colorado.
The thing I enjoy the most about tutoring is having them turn to like the subject again, when they absolutely dreaded it before. While tutoring students in college, this was the result that I strived for when working with each individual, since it made them the happiest and helped me feel like I have done my job to the fullest.
When I went to college I found myself helping other students in my class while doing homework. As a finances got tough for me in college, I started to work with individuals at their own base and begin teaching and tutoring to help with my situation. I also was a TA in college, and helped out students as well.
I have a degree in Finance, minor in Math, and a certificate in Quantitative Finance from the University of Colorado in Boulder. I have been passionate about the sbject of math since I will a little kid, and have been sharpening my skills ever since.

Typically I will talk with the student for a few minutes to get a better understanding of who they are, what interests they have, etc. From there I like to dive into the subject, asking about their strengths and weaknesses within math for example. That way I know what areas to work on, and others that we can move through quicker. I also like to ask if they have used a tutor before, and if they have, what worked best and what didn't work for them. The more I can find out about the student before actually jumping into the work the better.
I have worked with kids of all ages, rangin from 10 -20 years old.
Make sure you work with a teacher that is passionate about their work, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understand. Teachers that are passionate will always keep my attention in class, and will drive me to complete my offline assignments better as I would hate to dissapoint them.
I have recently been interested in Elon Musk and his company SpaceX, where they just launched the first private spacecraft with humans aboard, to the international space station.
