About Lirane
I specialize in college-level mathematics tutoring, including Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I, II, and III, Differential Equations, and Statistics.
I hold a B.S. in Mathematics and a dual degree M.S. in Civil Engineering, with over 7 years of tutoring experience supporting students from Montgomery College to the University of the District of Columbia.
My approach focuses on helping students build confidence, strengthen analytical thinking, and develop strong problem-solving skills to succeed in rigorous math courses. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged and capable of mastering challenging concepts.
As an advocate for STEM careers, I believe proficiency in mathematics is a critical foundation for academic and professional success, and I am dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
My interest in teaching began with my passion for mathematics during my freshman year at Montgomery College, where I worked as an on-campus tutor supporting students in Statistics, Precalculus, Calculus I–III, and Differential Equations. I later served as a Supplemental Instructor for Precalculus and a Teaching Assistant for Calculus II at the University of the District of Columbia, gaining extensive experience in both classroom and small-group instruction. Currently, while pursuing my PhD, I tutor for the Civil and Mechanical Engineering departments, continuing to help students apply mathematical concepts effectively and build strong problem-solving skills.
