About Isabella
I have been tutoring in math and English since I was in middle school. I am now a junior biology major at Kalamazoo College and have 8 years of tutoring experience, 5 years of teaching at summer camps, and 1 year of working in an elementary school. I have the most experience working with students 4-16, but I am happy to work with any age! I am patient and always ready to help, so please let me know if you have any questions.
I started volunteering at my middle school, where I taught 2-3 students at a time. I loved that experience so much that I continued through high school and even started gettting paying tutoring jobs as well as volunteering to teach.
In addition to tutoring, I've taught at several summer camps that have given me training and experience in classroom management, teaching children from different background and with different learning styles, learning quickly, and communicating effectively with students and parents.

I like to start by talking about what they already know, what they are struggling with, and what they want to accomplish. The more information I can get, the easier it is for me to personalize my teaching for their needs. After that, I typically ask if they have specific problems they need help with or if they would like me to develop a study plan. Finally, I like to have a quick meeting to make sure we can work well together!
