About Katherine
I take the time and effort to ensure my service is exceptional. I want to make sure my students are learning topics efficiently and correctly!
I am an incoming freshman at Rutgers Honors College with a weighted 4.5 GPA. I have tutored in English and Math in high school as a part of the Honors Society. I am also experienced with children and teenagers through my experience as a babysitter.
I love getting to know students more... they always seem to have to most creative learning techniques and even crazier stories!
For English, I have taken all Honors/AP English courses in high school and have maintained an A-/A in all classes for all four years in high school. I have also taken both the AP Language and AP Literature exams. I got a 5 (out of 5) on the AP Langauge exam, and I am waiting to hear the results of AP Literature in August 2020. I was also a part of the National English Honor Society for my junior and senior year, where I helped edit student's research papers and wrote for the school newspaper.
For Math, I have taken all Honors/AP Math courses in high school and maintained a B/B+ or higher in all classes for all four years in high school. I am also a member of Math National Honor Society where I helped tutor students in middle school. I am also a member of Math League where we compete in math tournaments.

I usually would like to get to know them first to better understand how they best learn (i.e visually, hands-on, etc). From there, I can create a lesson plan based around their curriculum. I have helped talk students through homework and test questions, and from there, we work to develop a technique for them to complete those questions on their own.
I have worked mostly with elementary and middle school students. However, I have also helped work with students in highschool (freshman and sophomores mostly).
