About Ashir
Hello! I am a college student available for tutoring primarily middle and high school. However, if I bave knoledge on the subject I am open to tutor anyone!
Throughout high school, I have had multiple experiences teaching and tutoring children. I have been the math teacher of a homeschooled child for about a year now. I teach him 6th grade mathematics, creating worksheets and lesson plans for him 5 days a week. In addition, I have volunteered multiple times at my local library to tutor children ranging from middle to high school. I've also done tutoring at my school's library for the National Honors Society, where I tutor high school students younger than me. Finally, I've been teaching at my Sunday School every year of high school. I've mainly taught 1st and 2nd graders; however, I have been asked to fill in quite a few times for other grades as well. So as you can see, I have experience with all ages of children.
I have been in advanced math since I was in 6th grade; I have been a year ahead in math, taking algebra 1 in 8th grade instead of 9th. I have taken Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and AP Calculus AB (aka Calc 1 in college) throughout high school. I have received A's in all of these classes, and recently scored a 5 on my AP Calculus Exam. My SAT score was a 1500, with a 750 on math. Right before the stay-at-home order was placed, I was offered a job at Key Academy for online tutoring, specifically in test prep. Unfortunately, I lost that job due to COVID (which is why I'm here on Wyzant's platform now haha).
Because I am in college and also because of concerns with Coronavirus, I will only be tutoring online. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested.

I usually first have a conversation either with the student and/or their parents to determine exactly what their goals are. I then try to get myself familiar with my student's curriculum by looking thorugh textbooks or other resrources they were provided. I create or find worksheets and practice problem sets that vary in difficulty and question type.
