About Yashavani
I always enjoyed teaching and helping others out in my classes. I have been tutoring my peers since the 6th grade. I started working at kumon as an official tutor since 8th grade and continue to do so. Currently, I am an undergraduate student at Rutgers University where I am a peer tutor. A student can easily give up in his or her education path when he or she starts struggling. When a student doesn't understand something or if something is hard, it turns them away from the subject. By helping these students, it brings the interest back. It shows students that they can learn the material and learn even more and conquer the hard obstacles. Education is an important aspect of life and I believe no one should be swayed away from it.
The joy that you see in a student's eyes when he or she finally understands the material is a great feeling. Education has always been very important to me, and I believe it is very important for everyone. It can help people think differently and come up with new ideas. Education can help reach goals students have whether that be starting a business, becoming a doctor, lawyer, or even going into show biz. The more a student learns, the more his or her brain develops and the more different ways of thinking form. Different problem solving skills are important in any career. I enjoy helping students reach new potentials
I have been working at Kumon as a tutor for more than five years now. i have worked with students from the age of 3 all the way to high school. By being a peer tutor at my University, I have also been able to work with college students.

When working with a new student, I first understand what the student is stuggling with. I figure out if underlying basic concepts need to be reviewed or does the current material need to be reviewed first. I essentially figure out what is causing the problem. I then try to understand the best way the student learns. Does he or she work better with examples, vidoes, diagrams, lecture based, or a mix? I also get to know the student and make sure that they are comfortable working with me.
