About Meredith
Hi! I have a BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech and a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of North Texas. Can you tell I love to learn?
I know how challenging it can sometimes be for a student to learn new concepts—some days are tough and nothing makes sense, while on other days, everything just clicks! I help students realize that these ups and downs are just a natural part of the process, and strive to build their confidence and enthusiasm along the way.
As a grade school mentor for six years, I realized that there are many ways to learn. For instance, some students have a harder time following verbal instructions (auditory learning), but visual aids help them process the information (visual learning). There are other modes as well. I work to identify the student's preferred learning style (or combination of styles) and what motivates them, so that they can more easily absorb and process key concepts.
I am flexible and welcome feedback from parents in order to create the most productive experience for the student.
