Experienced tutor in Mathematics in Sand Springs, Elena offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

Elena helped me restructure how I play, how I position my hands and saved me from playing unnaturally and hurting myself unintentionally. This is more important than you know and if you are also struggling with pain while playing like I was than she is all about letting your body do what its supposed to, not forcing it. She's never harsh with me, always asks how I'm doing and if I'm tired she notices. Maybe that's because I've been her student for so long. If I get tired of playing she will immediately tell me to stop and rest. If I tense up which I often do, she will squeeze my hand until I relax. I don't even realize when I'm playing heavily. She has a great regimen for scales and technical exercises to help you improve on flourishes like vibrato and such. She has resources like videos to watch for your exercises which have helped me develop my staccato, spiccato, vibrato, and shifting wonderfully. She's organized and writes my lesson plan and what I need to do after each lesson, helps me improve my mistakes and never gives up on me. She's kind and gives me snacks sometimes, shares her books and gives me sheet music. She tells me which books to buy and they're good prices. She has a strong passion for the classics like Vivaldi, Kreutzer, and Kayser. She will teach you very famous pieces and if you want to learn another song, she'll also help you with it. She helps me with orchestra pieces and pieces that I just want to play. If you can't practice as much, she's very lenient. Your progress WILL depend on how much time you're willing to put in. She needs you to actually practice so if you aren't going to do that for at least a couple days a week, she's not the right teacher for you. Your progress will be very slow. I can't tell you how much she's done for my bow hold and left hand posture. If you're looking for someone to smother your child in praise regardless of how they're doing, she would not be the right choice. If you want a teacher who is patient but may not encourage as much, she would be that type. Overall, this is the one thing I could find fault with out of her many other qualities that make her my favorite teacher and my friend.
