About Ben
Hello!
My name is Ben Schutte, and I am a 3rd year Economics PhD student at the University of Arizona.
I specialize in tutoring undergraduate and high school level economics classes, specifically those in Micro related fields. I can also tutor for a variety of math classes, with preferences on the high school math sequence (Algebra, Calculus AB, Introductory Statistics, Trigonometry, Geometry, etc...).
Over the past 2 years, I have been the Graduate TA for 6 economics undergraduate classes, and additionally taught a summer session of Basic Economic Issues with The University of Arizona. Before then, I worked for Varsity Tutors and Student Success Center at my undergraduate tutoring economics and math classes. I have passed the PhD level Comprehensive Economics Exams, and now spend most my time working on my own research (and watching plenty of movies).

I am fascinated with microeconomics, specifically the fields of Education and Development Economics, and I also have done research in the Entertainment Economics field. I'm very enthusiastic and passionate about Econ and Math subjects, and love when students are engaged and excited to learn. I will match the speed at which you need to move, and am very patient in my teaching process. My favorite part about tutoring is seeing that 'lightbulb moment of understanding' click in my students heads.
