About Laurie
Skilled Math teacher with 10 years of experience teaching in public and private schools and 20+ years of tutoring. I specialize in working with students who may not enjoy or have a natural grasp of math.
My favorite thing is guiding students from frustration to understanding in Math. I've personally tutored dozens of kids, many with learning challenges as well as many with exceptional abilities.

Laurie tutored my 9th grade daughter in Algebra 1. She is an excellent tutor with amazing patience. My daughter's grades improved dramatically with Laurie's help. I highly recommend Laurie for tutoring any age.
When my daughter needed home school teaching, Mrs. Ruwe was wonderful. My daughter was dealing with anxiety and depression and had trouble leaving the house. Mrs. Ruwe is an excellent teacher and would even be able to get my daughter out of the house for walks around the neighborhood. You can tell she is a very loving and caring person and truly loves what she does. I highly recommend Mrs. Ruwe!
Laurie worked with my high achieving high schooler during a medical emergency. She did an excellent job connecting personally, and had a great relationship with the teachers on staff. It's important that the teachers be willing to work cooperatively with the tutors: because she had also subbed for the district, she had a preexisting relationship
