About Shawn
As an advanced trained pharmacist that completed two post-doctoral residencies and hold three board certifications, I have demonstrated my passion for learning! I hope to instill a similar passion in others and help them to achieve their goals.
Teaching is my passion! I feel there are few greater things than helping a student or learner find their passion and facilitate their growth on a trajectory that exceeds your own.
My strongest teaching emphasis came through my work as a preceptor for medical, nursing, psychology, social work, and pharmacy students and residents. I have precepted nearly 100 students from these disciplines.
I have a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree with minors in chemistry and biology.
I compelted first and second-year post doctoral residencies with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine, pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, and medication prescribing/optimization.
I hold board certifications in pharmacotherpy, ambulatory care, and psychiatry.
I hold certifications in pain management, pharmacogenomics, basic life support, and advanced life support.
I am a certified mentor with the Veterans Health Administration.
I have precepted more than 100 students and residents in my time as an associate professor and clinician.

I like to get to know the student's interests, needs, and goals. Once those are found, a learning plan can be tailored to their specific needs.
I have primarily worked with medical, nursing, psychology, social work, and pharmacy students.
