About Tru
Learning saxophone with me is really laid back! I will work with you at your level, and help get you to a professional playing level.
I really enjoy getting to meet new people and helping aspiring saxophonists and muscians achieve their biggest dreams. I also love hearing success stories and seeing my students move on to become really succesful players and performers!
I started teaching in the year of 2018, after graduating from high school. I fell in love with being able to relay the information I was taught as a saxophone student throughout high school and college and chose to continue sharing that knowledge to other aspiring saxophonists.
I have 7 years of professional teaching and tutoring experience. I also have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Professional Music from the prestigous Berklee College of Music.

We will start with going over the basics of the saxophone and work through scales, embouchure, and technique. We will then master the fundamentals of the instrument and move on to discussing genres of music and songs you are interested in learning. Through repetition of fundamentals and songs, you will begin to gain a better understannding of the instrument and turn your playing into your own unique sound.
I have worked with saxophone students of all ages, ranging from age 5 to age 60. I have taught for myself as well as through a local music school by the name of String Theory School of Music located in New London, Connecticut, USA. I also currently teach saxophone to students for 'Unique Music School' through an online teaching platform called Outschool.

Studying saxophone with Tru has been a great educational experience as well as a lot of fun. We started off with the basics such as learning the Major scale in different keys and sight reading music. Studying Music Theory with Tru has made it finally make sense; now I'm able to read and compose! Tru incorporated my interests in different genres of music to the lessons so we have studied everything from Classical and Jazz to Dub Reggae and Progressive Metal! Tru is very nice and professional; always pushing me to reach the next level but at a pace I can handle. If you're interested in learning Saxophone I recommend studying with Tru.
My girls and I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy the saxophone sessions we have with Tru. She is experienced and her classes are structured where all the lectures are recorded for us to review.
She supports in goal setting and enabling us to meet our goals. Thanks to Tru, I had my first mini concert on the 4th of October, 2022. Its not something i could have done without Tru's support and encouragement.
She has been the best saxophone tutor we have ever had. Considering we are based in UK, distance has not limited the saxophone experience and training approach.

Details
I only offer 30 minute lessons. Per lesson, I charge $50.
If a student is interested in taking 4 consecutive lessons, I offer a monthly rate of $180 which allows the student to save $20 per month.
