About Madison
As a recent graduate of the University of Georgia with dual degrees in biology and psychology and a rich background in tutoring and mentorship, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the academic growth and success of your students. During my time at the University of Georgia, I honed my tutoring skills through various roles, including serving as an athletic tutor and a Peer Learning Assistant (PLA). As an athletic tutor, I had the privilege of mentoring student-athletes, helping them balance their academic commitments with their athletic pursuits. This experience not only reinforced my passion for education but also taught me the importance of tailoring my teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student. My two years as a PLA were equally rewarding. In this role, I functioned as an in-class tutor and student aid, working closely with professors to facilitate a conducive learning environment. Additionally, I took the initiative to lead small group study sessions and peer-led study sessions, further enhancing my ability to foster collaborative learning and comprehension among students. Before attending college, I dedicated two years to tutoring, during my junior and senior years. This experience allowed me to cultivate a deep understanding of various science and math subjects, equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective academic support in various areas.
As I look ahead, I plan to attend medical school next fall, where I intend to further deepen my knowledge and expertise in the field of healthcare. Therefore, during my gap year, I would like to make a meaningful impact on others in any way that I can. I am confident that my diverse tutoring background, combined with my strong academic foundation in biology, psychology, and basic math, positions me as a highly qualified candidate for this tutoring position. I am dedicated to helping students reach their full potential, fostering a love for learning, and instilling the confidence needed to excel academically.
