About Angela
Hey, I'm Angela!
I graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a 3.9 in my Major. I am currently in graduate school at Mercer University Atlanta. I study Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Master's program. I will continue my education by pursuing a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology after I obtain my Master's degree and licensure in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
My goal is to help students obtain the GPA of their dreams by highlighting the strengths of the particular student I am working with while implementing specific techniques to strengthen the areas in which the student may exhibit academic weakness. I believe every student has more potential than they initially realize when faced with academic struggles or barriers. Seeking a tutor is an excellent way to discover what unique study methods and explanations allow YOU to achieve more academic success than you could have imagined before.

1. Listen to the concerns, struggles, and/or specific/general questions the student may have.
2. Work collaboratively with the student to chose a main area of focus in tutoring while keeping other areas in mind - the goal for this step is to work on prioritizing (which will lessen anxiety in an overloaded student)
3. Come up with a game plan: schedule meetings, assignments, discussions, etc.
4. Encourage the student to address any concerns along the way of the entire tutoring process. Encourage the student to ask questions or to refer back to something they may not understand or believe works for them as a study technique or method of explanation.
