About Angi
In addition to a greater part of my life making some type of art, (mostly fine art), and a college degree in Fine Art, I have had many years of graphic design work, sign making and I also have stationery and product design experience. I think that lends a little extra creativity and thought when designing. I also have taught adults, children and those with disabilities. I love seeing the happiness in a student's face when they realized that they have made something that they never thought possible. I really enjoy being the assistant in helping my students realize their potential in a relaxed, creative atmosphere.
I have always like sharing knowledge of any new thing I learned with friends or classmates. I guess you can say I was born to teach (or be a busybody, lol). But I started actually teaching when I was a member at a wellness center and they needed someone to take over the art and craft class. I loved it. Then I started having my 4 neighbor kids over to my studio a lot for lessons and the bug took over.

I have over 25 years of work in interior design, sign making, graphic design, sales. 16 years in teaching art. 10 yrs in official capacity.
I stay on top of some subjects with my ongoing learning taking classes, watching youtube, Patreon and participating in art groups. I make artwork as often as possible, even if it's coloring in my adult coloring books.

I like to find out what their goals are, what type of art they like, what mediums they may like to work in and what their prior experience is. Then once that is all figured out, we can make a plan from there. I may like to start off with some fun warm up exercises.
All types. Young and elderly. Some with mental challenges. I have taught after-school art at elementary schools since Spring 2017. I just had to give it up because I was constantly catching whatever the kids had. I wanted to teach smaller classes anyway. I also taught the 21+ crowd with a paint and sip company which works with local restaurant and bars. I have been teaching from my studio since 2012 and I really enjoy this venue the best.
Come with an idea of what you'd like to do, but also remember that if you are a beginner, you will be learning steps to get there. There are rarely shortcuts. I will do my best to get you there as swiftly as possible. If you have no idea of what you want, that is okay as well, I have a small library of things, plus years of experience rattling around in my skull and we always have the internet to draw ideas from.
I had held an event with the paint and sip company in which we painted on wine glasses for a company bonding party. It was so much fun to see them interact with each other. Having them ask me for my advice and color choices (which I basically just guided them to choose what they liked with some choice questions) and then see them putting their ideas to work was so amazing. I love seeing a student bloom.

Perfect! I love painting with Angi. She has a lovely home studio that is relaxing and lends itself to creativity. As a teacher, Angi is able to both advise and demonstrate while still letting the artist keep creative control. She has a wide range of knowledge in many different mediums including acrylics, pastels and watercolors. As a beginning adult artist, I come to Angi with my own projects and she helps me bring them to fruition. For children or those who haven't yet decided on an art direction, Angi can offer many ideas and teach techniques with easy to understand lesson plans. I appreciate Angi's flexibility and her reasonable prices. I highly recommend Angi as an art teacher.

Angi's knowledge and talent are a value to those who have the opportunity to participate and learn from her. Even when working with a group, she gives personal attemtion to all participants. She can work well with a range of art levels. I would highly recommend attending one of her art groups. She works with many ages. She is also awesome at one on one art lessons. She meets the student where the and widens their talents.

Details
I generally start at $35 for 90 min session as a base, but look at each individual situation. If it is a weekly thing, more than once, longer than an hour, etc... I try setting up a discounted price. If I travel, I will have to add just a little on for travel depending on the distance out of my range.
