About Marianne
I teach painting classes in my beautiful studio in deep ellum. My classes are small and personal. I not only teach students how to paint but how to enter their creativity without fear. I got my masters at parsons school of art and design in NYC and have been showing in two galleries. Please visit my work and class descriptions at Mgargour.com

I was teaching during my masters and I have taught through out my career.
I got my masters in painting at Parsons School of Art and Design and I have studied with many teachers over the 30 years.

About the lesson

When my students arrive we usually discuss a topic. I show a video on and inspirational topic and then I do a slide presentation on an art topic. I then do a demo and then the students begin working on their project. I usually begin with Drawing, composition, then value and then color mixing.
I have worked with all ages.
Look for artists in the area...see their work and perhaps talk to them.
I recently had a show at my high school art teachers gallery. This was particularly rewarding to continue the legacy of teaching and painting.

I think if the students like the teachers painting style it helps to know the direction of the teaching.
