About Odessa
Odessa, is an Oregon based fine artist. She holds a BFA in Fine art and Master of Education. As a painter, she find inspiration in nature. After experiencing a earthscape workshop in San Fransisco with California based artist Andres Amador, Odessa discovered her true passion. She packed up her car and moved to Oregon in 2018 from Idaho. "There are no beaches in Idaho!"
Her work is ephemeral. Using only a rake and the beach as her canvas, she creates extrordinary, impermanent earthscapes. Lasting sometimes only minutes, she watches as the waves reclaim her work. Her photographs, watercolors and videos are a reflection and memory of the experience.
Her Sand Dancing art Experience is a collaboration of meditation, body movement and joyful expression. While creating divinely inspired art on Oregon's stunning beaches, Odessa finds balance and peace in the work she creates. She finds delight in the joy it brings to beach goers who happen to discover it.
Odessa's art is a gift to the community, a celebration of life and to all who witness its creation, it is "Extraordinary."
As an Educator, Odessa finds great joy in helping others discover that they are artists too. She believes that creating art can be healing and meditative. Her watercolor workshops incorporate the environment into the artwork, using water from its source, the paintings allow participants to take the experience home with them.
