I have taught painting to all ages and skill levels, from 6 years old to 89. Whether you are just starting out and wanting to learn to paint as a fun pastime, or improve your current skills/learn new painting techniques, my teaching methods will help you create beautiful paintings. I will share my painting techniques (which I have learned over the past 40 years of study and painting) and show you how to quickly and effectively paint in oil.
Following are the main areas of concentration for your lessons. Depending on your skill level, the emphasis may vary.
Discussions on oil paints, mediums, and surfaces. We will also discuss different techniques in painting with oils.
Subject selection and working from photographs. Composition and sketching.
Lighting and color/color mixing
Building form, texture, volume, and detailing.
Critiquing, professional presentation/framing and photographing your finished work.
