About Beth
potter and clay artist who enjoys teaching and creating art to all people from all walks of life and all experience levels
I got started teaching when a friend reached out asking for help at a newly established community center in upstate NY. It was an underserved area and the kids needed an outlet for expression. I taught in the basement of an old courthouse for a couple of years before moving on to a different state.
I have a degree in fine art. I've been teaching on different levels to people from different walks of life for 20 years. The most important thing is, I love helping people grow with their creativity and learn new skills and gain new tools that will enhance everything they do.

It's pretty simple. You, as the student, tell me what you are wanting to accomplish. Either learning from the basics or trying to create something specific, I can help. We start with finding out what You are capable of through some basic exercises either in throwing on the wheel, drawing, or painting. We then go from there!
I have worked with all types of students. ALL.
Look for someone with a great deal of experience and an absolute love for teaching. I often see artists who aren't that interested in teaching, but do it for the money, so their instructing skills are subpar and "bedside" manner is abhorant.

Details
I charge $25/person/hour, if you have all of your supplies for painting classes or workshops. If you don't have supplies of your own, it will be $35/person/hour. For pottery lessons, it is $50/person/hour. This includes all supplies and firings.
