About Inesa
Capturing the sense of freedom is the main theme of my art. I have been twice an immigrant in my life - once from Albania to Greece and then from Greece to the U.S. My family and I always searched for a place that would provide us with more freedom, more rights, and more opportunities to become the individuals that we were aiming to be. This is why I have been trying to capture the sense of freedom since early on in my art career. Vast and surreal landscapes, where nature seems infinite, immerse me in that feeling of freedom, of endless possibilities lying ahead of me. The feminine figures in my artworks accentuate the boldness and elegance of delving into unknown and novel territories. I incorporate real pieces of places I have travelled to into my artworks, through using genuine and precious materials such as seashells, sand, withered flowers and leaves, high quality glitter, and liquid gold to name a few. Through this kind of mixed media art I manage to create unique textures into my artworks that create a sense of kinetic and dynamic energy.
