About Carl
I am a professional painter currently working in "wearable art" with a company in Montreal, Canada, but have been "formally" painting since I took my first painting class in 1992 at NYU where I graduated in 1995 with a B.A. in Music, Art and Literature. I paint out of my house in my home studio and can help those who are seeking to paint in the abstract style or expressionist. I enjoy getting the beginning art student to see things in a way they hadn't seen before they started lessons.
After I graduated from NYU I got into teaching around 1997.
I have personally taken many painting classes at the collegiate level not only at NYU but locally in the Berkshires at BCC, IS183 and MCLA so I know very well what it's like to be on the student end of things. I have a large degree of patience and understanding for the beginning art student.

Beginning lessons start at the hour interval and increase from there as the student improves in skill and experience.
I have worked mostly with beginners and that's generally the type of student I prefer.
Be open to criticism and have a positive attitude, and look for a teacher who applies the same qualities to themselves.
I guess I would say it's a year or so ago when I was approached online by Le Galeriste from Montreal, Canada, who wanted to turn my art/designs into clothing!

Details
The hour lesson starts at $60/hour and goes up incrementally as the student develops. So, for example, once the basics are mastered the hourly lesson goes up to an hour-and-a-half and the fee is $75. The final painting session is a full 2 hours and that fee is $100.
