About Vernita
I am a professional artist and architectural designer with a B.Arch. from the University of Houston College of Architecture. I have a strong background in design, drawing, and painting. I took my first painting lessons at age 9 and have been painting ever since.
Art is essential for our souls.
I enjoy guiding students to reach that "aha" moment when they recognize their unique talents and style of painting. My classes include instruction in Basic Techniques for the medium in use, as well as Composition and Design.
Artist's Statement:
A fifth generation native Texan, I am deeply entwined in the land and lore as I paint the Sauce of TexasTM and create an art collage of my life. Finding joy in the process, I design ... I draw ... and I paint."

Perfect! Vernita was easy to work with. I enjoyed my lessons and learned a lot. I hope to take additional classes with her in the spring.
Perfect! Her class began the first Wednesday in August. The class is limited to four students which is amazing. Although we all painted the same subject each artists individual talent came through not like the current trend in many studios where the end results are all the same. Vernita is an excellent teacher.

Perfect! Very sweet and patient with my super shy and quiet daughter. I especially loved the way she explained WHY to do things a certain way. We very much enjoyed our first lesson and plan to make it a weekly thing!!!
