About Jo
As a personal trainer, Medical Exercise Specialist (orthopedic exercise), Nutrition Coach and QiGong teacher, I bring a holistic and wide-ranging knowledge to my work.
My goal is to educate my clients so they can live their lives to the fullest and do all that they want to do. I don't use bootcamp, drill sargeant or negative reinforcement but teach and guide with an intelligent, mindful approach.
I'm certified by The American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer, Medical Exercise Specialist, Health Coach and Orthopedic Exercise specialist; by Precision Nutrition as a nutrition coach; and by Santa Cruz Chi Center as a Level 3 QiGong Teacher.

We find Jo's training very beneficial. It is tailored to our needs, an appropriate level of challenge and of sufficient day-to-day variety to stay interesting. In addition we have found Jo to be flexible to meet our occasional schedule changes. We find Small Change to be a great value. We have used SMF for the last two summers and will be re-upping shortly.
Jo is a great trainer who meets you where you are at and understands all sorts of health issues and goals. She is very compassionate but still makes you work!
