About Tasneem
My work and volunteer experience over 20 years has focused on developing people. I have been a teacher, advisor, tutor, coach, mediator, and trainer, and I have worked with children, teens and adults. My service stands out because I can easily meet people at their level and figure out what they need to profress towards their goals.
I get excited every time a person recognizes their own improvement. Celebrating small successes and learning from failure is how people make the big life changes they desire. I still tutor because I excel at being a guide for learning and I truly enjoy it.
Throughout college I was an academic tutor, a sports coach, and an anatomy instructor. I was a personal trainer while completing my M.S. in Secondary Education, and then I taught high school biology for five years. Later I was a diversity and conflict resolution trainer, and I spent four years providing support services (tutoring, advising) to adult learners at a community college. I have tutored on and off for 20+ years.
Currently I am working for myself and pursuing a coaching certification. My Master's degree was in Secondary Education, and I have worked as a coach, teacher, and tutor. I studied exercise science for my Bachelor's and have personal training and fitness experience. I am self-taught in stock/options trading and continue to develop success in this hobby.
I have been trained in tutoring, conflict resolution, mediation, and teaching. I have a wide variety of experiences in educating people of all ages.

We discuss expectations and goals at the start so I am providing you exactly what you need. I can usually offer options so you choose what works best. You will have a record of our sessions so you know exactly what you are learning and you can see progress towards your goal(s).
I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults. Professionally, I have taught high schoolers, young adults and older non-traditional adult students. Through volunteer work, I have experience with children, teens and families.
Take the time to look at profiles or chat with professionals. Identify two tutors that catch your attention and take 1-2 lessons with them. (You can ask for an initial discount.) Then choose the person you enjoy most. Chances are, if you use this selection process, you will benefit more from your remaining lessons.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is helpful if students/parents can describe what they want to achieve through tutoring. Identifying strengths and struggles in learning will help tutors prepare better lessons. Most importantly, students should think about their own time and effort so they get the most benefit from tutoring.

I like to have structure and know exactly what my child is supposed to be learning. Tasneem was great at communicating with me, and my son. For each lesson she had a specific objective and gave feedback, which helped my son gain confidence in his learning. She even got him practicing problems on his own!
