About Arvin
I work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a clinical researcher. To be exact, I study neuroimmunology patients including their disease progressions and treatments.
But since I love teaching, I also have been teaching sciences on the side. I have both thought college science classes and tutored high school students. My approach is a topic-based approach. This means that the topics which need improvements will be our primary focus. This helps to only focus on what needs improvement which can save us a lot of time and reduce the financial burden. But this doesn't mean that we cannot work on all of the topics, if necessary we can work on everything🙂.
I am inspired and excited by scientific topics, they literally describe all of our surroundings and help us solve the mysteries of the universe. Take biology of the brain as an example; when we talk about the anatomy and physiology of the brain, we are talking about 3 pounds of biological tissue inside each of our heads that is somehow capable of doing integral analysis and playing tennis. But many lectures today make it more about the figure and lines of a PowerPoint slide and the answers of exam questions than what the brain actually is, an evolutionary miracle. After all, science is all about discovery and understanding of the natural phenomenon and not just the boring lecture that we all got in our science classes. So I always try to include the exciting parts of scientific topics in my sessions.

I started by tutoring my friends in high school 6 years ago. After entering college, I was hired as a peer tutor for other college students. This led to becoming a TA as an undergraduate and teaching two college classes, general biology and chemistry.
I just graduated with a 3.95 GPA from GWU with a major in Neuroscience. Also, I have thought general chemistry and General Biology classes as a TA at my College in addition to tutoring students in physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, all MCAT topics and neuroscience.
