About
Hi, my name is Stephen DeCostanzo. I teach piano and music theory. I have played piano and keyboards in solo jazz settings and in rock bands for clubs, restaurants, business conferences, and private parties. I have over 30 years’ experience. I teach a wide range of ages, with students from seven years old, up into their 70s. I am very patient with beginners, and I teach at your pace. I particularly enjoy helping my students learn to play popular and jazz songs quickly, as they continue learning about music theory — harmony, rhythm, scales, etc.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Percussion with Piano as a Secondary, from the University of Alabama, and a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from Indiana University, with a Cognate in Jazz Studies. I teach here at my house in Hiram, Georgia. I am accepting students age 7 and up.
