About Anton
A combination of modern and traditional approaches to discovering music creation through the piano. Fifteen years of teaching experience to children and adults, both privately and in higher education. Doctorate in music (D.M.A.), with emphasis on teaching, performance, and collaboration.
I offer a stress free, yet challenging learning environment. I focus my instruction primarily on proper practice techniques, as well as meaningful interpretation and musical expression. I can significantly expand your horizons in music and culture and your enjoyment of the piano.
Please note that I generally do not take on students under 13 years old.
I believe that creating art in general, and music in particular, is one of the most rewarding, honorable, dignified, and essential activities in which one can be involved. I love sharing my expertise and enjoy the challenge of finding effective ways to present concepts and materials.
I started teaching as soon as I began conservatory at the age of 20. It appealed to me immediately and remains one of the most rewarding activities in my life.

Focused conversation regarding the goals and intentions of the student. Listening, playing, and demonstrating. Emphasis on productive and enjoyable practice: how to practice correctly and maximize your time. I believe the space created during the piano lessons is truly sacred. It is where the student and the teacher engage in meaningful and important converstation about the role of creativity in our lives. It is a dynamic exchange about all aspects of our being.
College students, corporate executives, music professionals, younger and older people.
The clearer you are in your intention regarding music study, the more effective the instruction can be tailored to your specifications.

I have been taking lessons from Anton for over five years now. Unlike the traditional teaching method which heavily emphasizes rigorous technical improvements, Anton takes a more wholistic approach that comprises of music theory and introduction to various music genres. It allows me to have much more appreciation of learning piano as a whole and to have an extensive repertoire which includes Tchaikovsky, Bill Evans, Baroque, and Tango, to name a few. It's such a rewarding experience!
